Andrew Saga - With Musical Guest

So, as Deathklok? Is that how you spell it? Was doing a global tour, and sense no one plays Detroit.... Well, this had to do. so, HAVE A BRUTAL B-DAY!!!! I particularly like the lead singer... whatshisname in this picture. This is pretty much the cornerstone of the whole card, the drawing I re-did a number of times to get it right. It's two 4x6 cards ripped up and taped together, actually.

Andrew Saga - Start
So, this is the start of a gigantic saga of pictures on (more or less) 4x6 cards I drew for a friends' b-day. This is the result of a couple of hours of frantic drawing before his party.
Here's the envelope that I doodled on while waiting to give it to him. The weird waitress thought the word bubble was sort of phalic. That bitch was desperate if she thought that looked like a dong. Thursday, April 23, 2009

Bounce Castle
This one is from early January this year, and for whatever reason I never scanned it. Drew it while watching Gonzo, that Hunter S. Thompson biography. It made me wonder if there were any recordings of Johnny Depp reading his books. (It seems not).

ROCKY on guitar and vocals DALE on drums JIMBO in bass
Rocky obviously gets all the tail, he's the best preserved.

Mexican Beer
Drew this in lecture the other day, approx. actual size 2in x 4in. No reference, no pencil, with an odd Staedtler "Lumocolor" felt tip pen/marker on a 4x6 card (yes, it's a terrible habit I should draw on real paper).

I love how I can set the date and time for the post, I don't have to update every single day to get daily posts. Also, that "FRESH COONS" sign I saw in Detroit a few months back really is for dead raccoons.

Connect Two!
It's Tuesday... morning... so it's still the same... crap, did I miss Monday? I did, didn't I? Whatever. Here's today's good picture:

Then... the bad picture. It's the beatles... though they look a lot more like Mt. Rushmore. Mount! Rush! More!
"It's not no much a cocktail as it is a horrible sticky thick SWEET MeSS With ALCOHOL in it" (The capitalization isn't really important, when writing in drawings sometimes I interchange upper case and lower case depending on which looks better.)

Yummy yummy colors

Both these drawing are pretty boring, so you get two today.
I spent an hour or something going through pictures I like and using this site.
What you do is give it an image, then it spits out a group of colors from it that make a good looking pallet. I put the hex codes it gives me into PS and make swatches out of them. In otherwords, I M UR PICKTUREZ STEELIN UR COLORZ.

i can updatez

So, playing bioshock I wondered... what do they use for money if the whole idea is that the city is totally independent?
1) They make their own money
2) Andrew Ryan speculates and tapes doodles to Canadian Tire dollars
3) The answer to his speculations
I just had the most unbelievably awesome games of Team Fortress 2. I didn't beat any old records (except maybe most dominations), but just pure fucking awesome TEAM gaming. So great, so... so great.

Ok, so there's ONE Kansas song I kinda like
something something before the thunderstorm

Panel 1:
This is supposed to be a shot from on campus, the CIS building on the right, facing the Science Building with the woods over on the left. Without the orangey-sodium lights it'd be pitch black.
Panel 2:
Top half of the black fill is this Staedtler marker and the rest is regular Pentel Brush Pen. It's so annoying when blacks don't match... You can see the little line where they overlap.
Panel 3:
oops, forgot to erase. Also, put more ink in the Pentel so it got a lot darker.
Yeah, this isn't a very good one. I've got more, though.

I always seem to mess up panel 3

I actually think I pulled off panel 2. What I'd really love to get down is the look of how bright and clear lit interiors are when it's dark outside. It's such an odd look. Everything else is obscured in the darkness, but then there's this spot of depth and clarity where you can just see everything. blah blah blah
Why not?

Isn't this nice? Anyway, this is one of, if not, my favorite full strip I've drawn. So it's a good place to start. I didn't adjust the scan at all, so that's why the white background is, to me at least, a bit orange. I just don't like the stark white background. When I look at comics in books or drawings on paper, the background isn't pure white. I don't know why that rule magically changes on the internet. I've scanned a number of 3x5 card drawings, so they should be up here daily, more or less.
